During August and September, the Landscape Survey and Character Assessment has continued. The parish was divided into ten sections, accessible via public rights of way but as can be imagined, it proved to be an involved and time consuming exercise. A draft document relating to the Survey has been forwards to a qualified Landscape Architect for assessment and advice while the Edge of Settlement work is being correlated. The group involved with the work are still in need of historical photographs of the parish, both buildings and landscapes.
The compilation of the list potential Stakeholders has been completed. This proved problematic, not least because of the constraints imposed by the Data Protection Act. Stakeholder engagement is a prerequisite of the Neighbourhood Development Plan process. The steering group felt, at this stage of the work, that we would restrict contact to those businesses and landowners currently located within the parish. It was felt that, while the individuals were also residents, their view of development of the parish might differ from a commercial rather than a private perspective. With all this in mind I’ve included below is a copy of the letter in case we’ve missed someone and they would like to comment / contribute. The letter together with the survey results will also be on the website.
If you are a stakeholder interested in the development taking place within Cubert Parish then please download a copy of our stakeholders letter by clicking here
I’m sure you will understand that while we are constrained by the Covid 19 regulations, our circulars together with the newsletter and our website are the primary means by which we can collect information and opinion. The Neighbourhood Development Plan is something that needs to be done. The opinions and ambitions of the local people and businesses will form the cornerstone of what is included in that plan.
As always, if you want to put forward your ideas, please use one of the contact options shown at the end of this article or email me directly at chair.cubertndp@btinternet.com.
