The Steering Group have been working to finalise the paperwork for submission of the Cubert Neighbourhood Plan to the Inspector.

The Consultation Document and Basic Conditions statement have been completed and final amendments are being made to the Plan.

It has been as long journey but hopefully we can now see the end of the tunnel!

During the twelve months since my last update, work on Curt’s NDP has continued steadily and diligently. I cannot, hand on heart, say it has been “exciting” work but it has been absolutely essential in the composition of a Development Plan that accurately reflects the opinion of the parishioners and also meets the exacting prerequisites of the national NDP processes.

I am pleased to say that we are now in a position to instigate the “pre-submission consultation process” in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Plan Regulations.

This involves corresponding with pre-requisite statutory bodies and in addition publicising the plan to those who live, work or run businesses within the Parish.

To that end, I would like everyone, with an interest in the subject, to look at “the plan” together with the associated Design Guide via the internet links listed below.

In addition, the NDP Steering Group members with be holding an exhibition/Q&A event in the Beacon of Light Community Church building on Saturday 12^th October 2024 between 10.00am and 4.00pm.

As with the last event. the proposed policies, aims and objectives together with the rational that led to them, will be on display.

January 2022, when I did the last Cubert NDP update, seems an age away.

Looking back, I’m glad that when I was talking about the predetermined process that we would have to follow I did say “The time scale for this is, for various reasons, impossible to predict at the moment.”

I hope everyone managed to have an enjoyable and safe Christmas.

Looking back twelve months the Cubert NDP Steering Group were deciding “to review each of the six priority areas identified in the initial survey and establishing the practical options available.”

Following on from my last Newsletter update in August, I am pleased to say that we now have a confirmed date for the NDP consultation exhibition which will be held on Saturday 13th November in Cubert Village Hall.

Not much in the way of news this month beyond the fact that the NDP steering group will be having its first face to face meeting this month after such a long time.

Half the year gone, the Cubert Neighbourhood Development Plan Steering Group has collected just about as much information as the parish residents, parish business owners and as many other interested parties that we could think of, have felt inclined to disclose to us.

Well here we are, nearly at the end of the beginning as the man said.

June will see the collation of resident’s opinions on the “provision of sports and leisure facilities” being the last of the six priorities identified from the initial Residents Survey.
